In 1989, Miriam Adelson and her husband, Sheldon Adelson, founded the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The company was an amalgamation of their business interests, which included the Regency Casino in Atlantic City and their hotel, the Venetian Resort Hotel, in Las Vegas.
